Lindt Easter Candy Holders

Hi Everyone!

Like many of you I search the Internet and Pinterest for ideas.  I saw a video (click on the word "video" to get to the link) that showed how to make an adorable holder for a small Lindt bunny.  I didn't have the exact tools that she used in the video, but was able to adapt her idea and use the tools I have.

I cut my paper the way she suggests.  Then I rounded the top corners of my paper and used a Lawn Fawn clear stamp to stamp "Happy Easter."
I used a tiny punch to punch a hole in the top of my paper and tied a sheer ribbon through the hole.

At the store I found Lindt packages that have 5 bunnies or 5 chicks or 5 lambs and bought some of each of them.

Here are some of the holders that I created.

The holders are super easy to create and as you can see they are adorable!

Have a great day!

A "Garden" for Chocolate Carrots

Hi Everyone!

I bought some bags of Palmer chocolate carrots.  I thought they would look cute in a "garden" so I created one for them.

I started out by cutting a piece of brown tag so that it measured 4.5" x 4.5".  I scored along one side at 1", 2", 3", and 4".  Then I used my bone folder to crease each of my scored lines.

I used my second smallest oval Nestability die to cut three oval holes in the second one inch area.  Then I adhered the brown tag together to create a rectangular "box".

I cut 2 pieces of green tag so that they measured 4.5" x 1.75".  I used a grass paper punch to cut the tag to create the grass.  You could use a grassy die if you have one or you could use a paper of scissors to fringe some grass.

I adhered the grass to the "box".

I used a Memory box die to cut some bunnies and attached them to the grass.  I used black enamel accents to give them each an eye.  I added a tiny white pompom to each of the bunnies to give them a tail.

I "planted" a carrot in each of the oval holes I had punched.

I used a Lawn Fawn stamp to create the sentiment.

Look at the candy you have and maybe you can create a garden with it.

Have a great day!

Holders for Chocolate Carrots

Hi Everyone!

Easter is just 3 days from now.  I thought that some of you might enjoy seeing some of my recent crafts in case you need/want to create any last minute treats.

Lindt sells a box of 4 milk chocolate carrots.

Each carrot is on a stick.  They look like carrot umbrellas to me.

I decided to create an "umbrella holder" for each carrot.  I can put the carrots at each place setting on Easter or put them in a basket.

These holders are easy to create.  Cut a piece of tag so that it measures 4" x 8".  Line the 8" side up against the top of your Scor-board and score at 1/2", 1.75", 4.25", and 5.5".  Turn the paper so that the 4" side is up against the top of your Scor-board and score at 1.25" and 2.75"

Use your bone folder to crease along all of your scored lines.  Then cut along the lines, but stop when you reach the center from each side.  Look at my photo to see what I mean.

Cut off the top strips from each side so that you are left with just one piece that is 1.5" long by .5" wide.  Punch a hole that is about 7/8" wide as shown in the photo.

Now fold and tape to create the box.  You can cut a piece of tag that is 1.25" x 2.25" to decorate the front panel of the box.

I plan to share some other ideas tomorrow.

Have a great night!

Bunny Cards

Hi Everyone!

Getting Ready
A few weeks ago I looked through my clear stamps and moved all of the bunnies into one cd case.  I moved my Easter woodblock stamps, dies, and paper punches into my line of vision.  Then I stamped, heat embossed, and fussy cut lots of bunnies.  I die cut other bunnies and used black enamel accents to add eyes to the bunnies who needed eyes.  I adhered tiny white pompom tails to every bunny.  Then I put all of the bunnies into a clear bowl on my desk.

The Fun Begins
Each time I sit at my desk I see those bunnies waiting for me.  Now I have added many of them to my cards and Easter treat holders.  I'll share a few of those cards today.  Click on each image to enlarge it.

This simple card is one of my favorites.  I used my Spellbinder Circle Nestability dies to cut the circles.  The bunny was cut from a Memory Box bunny trio die.  The grass was created with a Fiskars paper punch.  I embossed the mint green tag with a Cuttlebug "Birds and Swirls" embossing folder

This cute little bunny and the sentiment are from Lawn Fawn's "My Sweet Valentine" clear stamp set.   The "Happy Easter" sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's "Happy Easter" clear stamp set.  That "Happy Easter" sentiment stamp is one of my favorites.  I use it over and over again.  The papers are from Echo Park.  Wish I had more of them.

I picked up the purple doilies at Michaels.  They are the perfect size for an A2 card.  I try to keep different colors of them on hand.  The bunny in the center of the doily was cut from a Memory Box bunny trio die.  The smallest bunny was stamped and fussy cut from Lawn Fawn's "Hello Baby" clear stamp set.  The bunny who is hopping away was stamped and fussy cut from Lawn Fawn's "Happy Easter" clear stamp set.

I have many other "bunny" cards to share, but you'll have to wait until another day.

Hugs!

Threaded Cards

Good morning!

Happy March 1.  In just a few weeks hopefully Spring will be here.  Meanwhile, I am happy to at least see blue sky and sunshine.

Like many of you I follow blogs and Pinterest in search of inspiration for my crafts and cardmaking.  The other day Dave Brethauer posted an amazing video on threaded cards at this link.  I hadn't seen this technique before and was intrigued by it.

The gold thread I had was more like a thin cord, than thread so I went to JoAnn's and picked up a spool of Gutermann gold thread.  While I was out I also bought a spool of clear thread, but that's a story for another day.

Here are the cards I created.  Click on them to see a larger image.

I approached the technique a little differently than he did.  I die cut a circle through the top layer of a folded card and a piece of patterned paper.  I ran a piece of 1/8" Scor-tape around the circumference of the circle on the card.  Then I used a tape runner to put adhesive all around that area.  I used the gold cord to create "my web."  I learned from my first attempt that it is important that the thread is put down tightly.  Otherwise it will droop when you add a sentiment or embellishment to it.

When I was satisfied with my "web" I carefully adhered the patterned paper to the front of the card.  Now the gold thread was sealed between the card and the patterned paper.  I cut another circle to create a frame for the web.

Here is a close up of each card.

The sentiment was created with dies from The Stamps of Life.  The butterflies were created with a paper punch.

The effect of this technique is fascinating.  I can't wait to try it again.  Maybe right now!

Have a great day!
