Owl Bags

Hi Everyone!

There's no question about it. Owls are most definitely "in" this year.  The back to school card I made for Marie has owls on it.  Some of the notes I've written to Annie were written on owl cards.  I have owl salt and pepper shakers that Robbie gave me last Christmas sitting on the dining room table.  There are 3 owls displayed on the 3 tiered basket that hangs over my kitchen sink.  Diane gave me the felt one.  Robbie gave me one of them and I bought the other one myself.

The door of my classroom is decorated with owls to welcome students to our classroom.  Each year I give them a box of 24 crayons, a pair of scissors, and a glue stick to keep at home to use for their family engagement activities.  This year I made each of them an owl gift bag for those supplies so that they can find them when they need them.

I used a scalloped die to cut the white circles around their eyes and then added large googly eyes to the white.  The googly eyes have eyelashes on them.  The beaks are made from scraps of yellow tag.  I gave each owl 2 real feathers to add texture to the bag.

Have a great day!
Carol
