Cars and Trucks Thank You Cards

Hi Everyone!

I know that it's been a VERY long time since I posted on this blog.  School work consumes most of my time.  But, Gayle's son and daughter-in-law are having a baby so I have been busy creating and I'd like to share some of the creations with you.

Ricky and Lauren are expecting a boy.  They are using a cars and trucks theme to decorate their nursery. The baby shower that Gayle is planning will have a cars and trucks theme.  I decided to create some thank you cards for Ricky and Lauren with the same theme.

I looked through my supplies and found a few stamps, buttons, brads, ribbon, Washi tape, and some papers that I could use.

The road was created with a piece of ribbon.  I applied Scor-tape to my card and then added the ribbon to the Scor-tape.

The cars are buttons from Favorite Findings.  The traffic signal was created with a stamp from the Paper Smooches Metropolis clear stamp set.  I used rhinestones to create the lights.

The truck paper is from Momenta.  I die cut "thanks" 5 times and layered the words on top of each other.

More car buttons. The cars are on Road Washi tape from Denami Design.  I used a black marker to create the thin road.  I used a white Uni-ball pen to add the lines on that road.

I made Lauren a total of 15 thank you cards so stop by again soon to see more of them.  I started Christmas cards today so I'll be sharing some of them too.

Have a great night!
Carol

(I tried emailing you twice, but my email kept coming back undelivered. So sorry to have to answer your questions about the bridal shower gift here--I just didn't know how else to contact you!! Hopefully, you'll find this in time. I'm so sorry!)

Hi Carol,

I am SO sorry for the delay in replying to your questions! I was tied up with houseguests last week (and tied up with getting ready for them the week before!). I'm just now starting to get caught up on, well, everything--including my email and blog reading and stuff. So I just got around to reading the comment and questions you left on my notepad tutorial post. It usually doesn't take me this long!! So sorry.

Making thank you cards as a bridal shower gift is a WONDERFUL idea! I love giving card sets as gifts, and a bride is sure to appreciate them. She'll certainly use them!! When I make a set of cards, I generally stick with even numbers of cards and the actual number usually depends on how complicated the design is. If I were in your situation, I might go with either 8 (for a more complicated design) or 12 (for a simpler design) notecards in the set. But truly, I think that whatever you feel most comfortable with would be just fine!! Handmade gifts rock :)

I hope this helps--and I dearly hope that I'm not too late. But if I am, please accept my sincerest apologies!!

Best of luck to you! And thanks so much for all of your sweet comments recently. They warm my heart!
