Bridal Shower Card

Hi Everyone!
It's been a busy day here.  I have a friend who requested a bridal shower card, a friend who requested 5 valentine cards, and another friend who wanted some thank you cards.  So in between laundry, cleaning, and prepping next week's workshops I made some cards.

I used an umbrella from Lawn Fawn's "Partly Cloudy" clear stamp set for this bridal shower card and gift tag.  After I stamped the umbrella and the text I ran the white tag through a Cuttlebug Hearts embossing folder.  The text was created with a clear stamp from Hero Art's "Best Wishes" set.  The tiny hearts on the card and tag are "scrap hearts" that come from a Martha Stewart's hearts edger punch.  There are tiny white pearl embellishments on the umbrellas.

I made a variety of thank you cards.  These cards were made with paper from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl block.  I stamped a spool of thread from PaperTrey Ink's "Quilter's Sampler" set on the first card and a pincushion from Hero Art's "Sew Artsy" clear set on the second one.  The "Sew Much"  text stamp is from Stampabilities.

Here's one of the valentines that I made.  I used Hearts Nestabilities to cut out the 2 hearts, a Martha Stewart edger punch on the layering paper.  The love birds and the text were stamped with A Muse Artstamps.   The  branch is from the Hero Arts "Trees, Birds & Messages" clear stamp set.

Have a great night!

Hello!

Hi Everyone!

I am VERY VERY excited about the cards I am going to share with you today. I’ve told you that I keep my clear stamps in cd cases. I cut the packaging that has the black outlines of each stamp and use my Scor-Pal tape to attach it to the empty case. Then I match the stamps to the black outlines, but there are exceptions. I store all of my "happy birthday" clear stamps in one case and all of my "thank you" clear stamps in another case. As of today I now store all of my "hello" stamps together along with Lawn Fawn’s telephone clear stamp.

The telephone is from Lawn Fawn’s "Just My Type" clear stamp set. "Just saying hello" is from the Hero Art’s Everyday Sayings stamp set that I have been talking about for the past couple of days. One of the "hello" stamps is from Lawn Fawn’s "Just My Type" clear stamp set and the rest of the "hello" stamps are from all different sets of clear and wooden stamps in my stash.

After I had stamped and colored the telephone I very carefully cut the receiver off of the phone. I used my paper piercer to make a tiny hole in the phone and in the receiver. I wrapped thin jewelry wire around a toothpick to curl it like a real phone cord and then I put one end of the wire in the hole I had made in the receiver and the other end in the hole I had made in the phone.

The yellow memo paper is from the Sassafras Nerdy Bird Wee Bundle. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Yesterday I had lunch with an "old" friend. Well, she’s not really that old...she’s 3 years younger than I am. I packed us a picnic lunch. As I drove to her home I realized I had forgotten to pack salad dressing so I stopped at Stop & Shop to pick some up. While I was there I decided to quickly browse through the magazine section because you never know what kind of inspiration might be lurking on the shelves. I glanced at the magazines on the shelves and the August/September 2010 issue of
Quilt magazine jumped out at me. I looked at the quilt on the cover and the first word that came into my mind was "Nestabilities". I knew I could use that quilt as a trigger to create a quilted card.

Here it is! After I created the quilt I decided to use my Cuttlebug and run the quilt through an embossing folder. Wrong...it was too thick. I peeled the top three circles off of each stack. Then I was able to emboss the rest of the card and embossed the 6 stacks of 3 circles each separately. Then I reattached those circles to the card.
I still have a stack of cards that I made last weekend to share with you. Hopefully, I will have a chance to post them tomorrow.

Have a great night!

Lawn Fawn Stamps

Hi Everyone!

On Thursday it was too humid to do much of anything so I sat at my computer and surfed the net. I landed on a web site I’d never seen before. Happily, it was a great place to land!

The name of the web site is www.lawnfawn.com Along with a great blog to read, there are some wonderful videos to watch. There are also many fun sets of clear stamps that can be purchased directly from the site. I purchased 2 sets on Thursday afternoon and they were shipped on Thursday night. They arrived in the mail this afternoon (Saturday) in a sturdy box along with a cute business card from Kelly Marie Alvarez who co-owns the company. The business card has a clear "thanks" stamp attached to it along with a handwritten thank you message from Kelly Marie. Nice, very, very nice. Due to the quality of the stamps, the quick shipping, and the nice "extra" touches I will definitely order from this company again. I have bookmarked the web site as a favorite so I can continue to follow the blog and watch the remaining videos that I haven’t watched yet.

Recently a friend of mine asked me to make some baby shower cards. While I was exploring the Lawn Fawn website I found the perfect set of stamps to make those cards for her. I used the umbrella stamp and text from the
"Partly Cloudy" set to create this shower card. After stamping, embossing, and fussy cutting the umbrellas I attached them to the background paper with some thin pop dots. I used a Martha Stewart bow paper punch to create the bows that you see on the umbrellas. I stamped "have a happy shower!" on a scrap of white tag and then cut the tag into a cloud shape. The rhinestone raindrops and tiny white pearls on the umbrellas are from my stash. The stamps from this set would work perfectly for bridal and baby shower cards. There are also other messages in the set that would work on encouragement cards.

The "you light up my life" card was created with stamps from the "How Delightful" Lawn Fawn clear stamps set. The text and the chandelier are from the set. I used a Scor-bug to make the holes for the chandelier’s chain. I used some thin gold cord to backstitch the chain and attached pearls for the chandelier’s lights. The valance across the top of the card was created with a Martha Stewart edger punch.

I hope you like today’s cards and I encourage you to check out the Lawn Fawn blog for some great new ideas!

Have a great night!
