Friday's Cards with Flowers

Hi Everyone!

This morning I decided to create cards with some of my silk flowers. I used one of my Sizzix dies called "Flowers & Vines with Stem" to create the stems and leaves for those flowers. I worked with a sheet of sky paper from K and Company's 12" x 12" Citronella paper stack and a sheet of leaves paper from dcwv's 12" x 12" Songbird paper stack.

I've always liked the look of the 1.75" squares on these cards. I used my corner rounder on 2 of the opposite corners on each square. "Thanks" and "hello" were created with Maya Road rubons.

Have a great night!
Carol

OMG! I've been trying to figure out what a rubon was (pronounced reuben) ... I just realized it was "rub on"!!! :D That's truly a blond moment! LOL!

Carol, if I'm wrong, don't approve this post!!!! :D

Hi Cindy!
I will publicly confess that when I was working at the store the first time I ordered from Maya Road I had no idea what a "rubon" was either. I was talking to customer service and asked them to send me a sample "roo-bon!" The woman had no idea what I was asking for so I explained what page I was looking at in their catalog. Well, she was very nice and didn't burst out laughing, but explained it was pronounced "rub on" and said she'd send me some. MaryBeth uses them all of the time and I must confess that I want more of them because they are so easy to use.

LOL!!! Too funny! At least I don't feel soooo dumb now! I've always wondered why scrapbookers, etc. had so many unusual names for everything.

I agree with you. Some of the names are odd. Another confession when I first started to papercraft I kept reading about using a "bone folder" to help make creases in your cards. Well, I was intrigued and went to a couple of different stores and asked for a "bone cutter" for cardmaking. Well, no one made the association from bone cutter to bone folder so no one could help me. Finally, one day I found "bone folder" mentioned on the Internet and looked it up online...and then I went to the store and found exactly what I wanted...on my own.

These are lovely cards and I always have flowers on hand since I enjoy making my own. Loving the comments too!
