Thinking of You Aunt Char

Hi Everyone!

Today I received the nicest note from my Aunt Char who is my godmother. She’s an amazing person. I am not sure how old she is, but I think she’s at least 85 years old. She lives in an assisted living residency and is still very independent. It was Aunt Char that I called for cooking advice over and over again when I was first married.

I decided to write back to her. I checked out the current challenges on the 365 Cards web site and decided I would make her a card based on the Day 316 challenge. This challenge is a Card Recipe and the ingredients are supposed to be
4.25” x 5.5” card
stripes
stickers (any amount)
stamped sentiment
one additional embellishment of your choosing

I have been working on valentines and I have red, pink and white papers strewn about my work area. I found 2 different sheets of striped paper in the stash and cut two 4” x 1.25” strips from each of them. I adhered them to a red 4.25” x 5.5” card. I added 3 heart stickers to one of the strips. I stamped a banner from Lawn Fawn’s “Bannerific” clear stamp set onto white tag and then stamped “thinking of you” from Lawn Fawn’s “Sophie’s Sentiments” onto the banner. I fussy cut the banner and adhered it to my card with a piece of foam tape. Before I added a red heart button to the card I threaded a piece of red and white baker’s twine through it and tied the twine into a bow. You’ll notice that the twine is also “striped”.

I followed the recipe exactly and here’s how my card turned out. I am pleased with it and think Aunt Char will like it too.

Have a great night!
Carol
