Scalloped Border Punch Card

Hi Everyone!

Okay, okay I admit it. Over the past few days I have become addicted to challenges. I need to create a variety of cards and the challenges are inspiring me and giving me a jumping off point.

This week’s CAS-ual Friday challenge is to create a Clean and Simple project with scallops. This week’s Speedy Fox and Friends challenge is to create a card using a border punch. The card I created this morning fulfills the requirements of both of those challenges.

I selected one of my Martha Stewart scalloped border punches and punched strips of heart patterned paper and strips of white tag. I adhered the strips together to create my own scalloped patterned paper.

Then I took out my classic and scalloped heart Nestabilities. I used 3 sizes of the classic Nestabilities to cut hearts from the scalloped patterned paper. I used 3 sizes of the scalloped Nestabilities to cut scalloped hearts from some red tag.

I wanted to puff up my hearts a little so after I mounted the classic hearts onto the scalloped hearts I ran them through my “Tiny Bubbles” Cuttlebug embossing folder. Then I layered the hearts on top of each other.

I used one of Lawn Fawn’s Bannerific clear stamps to create a banner and a Hero Arts stamp to add text to the banner. I fussy cut the banner and then I used tiny red heart brads to attach the banner to the hearts. I mounted the hearts on a piece of heart patterned paper from SEI’s “With All My Heart” collection and then mounted that paper on a 4.25” x 5.5” blank card.

Here’s my card. If you study the hearts you will be able to see the scallops that were created from the Martha Stewart border punch!

Have a great night!
Carol
